The Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland Hosts the 20th Anniversary Celebration of EUSTAFOR
On April 16, 2026, a conference was held at the headquarters of the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU as part of the broader initiative to promote the 20th anniversary of EUSTAFOR (European State Forest Association) on the international stage. The event’s theme was “Growing Together – 20 Years of EUSTAFOR.” Among the prominent institutions and guests invited to participate in this special event was our Association. The event was graced by the presence of high-level representatives from European institutions (the European Commission and the European Parliament). Numerous representatives of government agencies from countries affiliated with EUSTAFOR also accepted the invitation. The conference attendees were predominantly foresters from across Europe who are actively involved in the effective implementation of a sustainable forest management model, governed by the principles of transparent management of state-owned forests. The conference provided an opportunity to meet and engage in informal discussions with DGLP delegates, led by Marcin Polak (Deputy Director of DGLP). DGLP has been a member of EUSTAFOR for many years and is also the largest national institution responsible for managing forests that are part of the state treasury’s property portfolio.
During the event, our Association was actively represented by: J. Turski (SPP Director General) and K. Łagoda (PLWD – Mondi Świecie). Taking this opportunity, we both expressed, on behalf of the SPP, our appreciation to Mr. Borkowski (Executive Director of EUSTAFOR) and his team for their commitment to their work within the EU to date, and wished them success in the future.
