Wood Festival – Discover the raw material that’s changing the world!
On September 19–20, 2026, the second edition of the Wood Festival—an open, free event brimming with knowledge and inspiration—will take place on the campus of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW). This September, science, forestry, and craftsmanship will once again come together on the Warsaw University of Life Sciences campus to showcase wood as the raw material of the future—renewable, versatile, and extremely valuable for the development of technology and the economy.
During the event, you’ll have the chance to discover wood from a completely new perspective. It is not only a raw material that has been used for centuries, but also a modern material of the future, finding applications in architecture, design, industry, and everyday life. The event will also provide an opportunity to discuss the responsible use of wood, innovative technologies, and the importance of sustainable forest management for the future of forests and the development of the bioeconomy.
During the Wood Festival, visitors will not only have the opportunity to learn about the remarkable properties of this material, but also to see for themselves how wooden objects and works of art are created. Participants can look forward to many inspiring workshops, demonstrations, and activities organized by wood enthusiasts and organizations dedicated to promoting knowledge about forests and wood.
Festival participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures by, among others:
- Prof. Piotr Beer, Ph.D. – “Furniture of the Future – How to Design Sustainably?”,
- Piotr Borysiuk, Ph.D., Professor at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) – “Wood-Based Materials Around Us – Where Do We Find Them and Why Are They So Popular?”.
The event is organized by:
- Regional Directorate of State Forests in Warsaw
- Institute of Wood Sciences and Furniture
- Association of Energy-Efficient Prefabricated Homes
