Conferences: “Corrugated cardboard – the latest technologies” and “Innovative packaging – design and production of solid cardboard packaging”

On October 13-15, 2025, two conferences organized by the Świat Druku publishing house were held in Karpacz. The first one was entitled “Corrugated cardboard – the latest technologies,” 14th edition. During the first day of the conference, we learned about the properties and applications of corrugated cardboard, how the cardboard packaging industry is moving towards a circular economy and reducing its carbon footprint. We also learned about the comprehensive customer service provided by BW Papersystems, from cardboard boxes to packaging production. We also learned about ways to optimize printing and manage waste generated during the production of corrugated cardboard.

On the second day of the conference, the first presentation was given by K. Godlewska and J. Żubrzak on “Packaging in the circular economy.” Representatives of the SPP presented the threats and challenges associated with European and national legislation related to PPWR and EUDR, as well as the requirements for materials intended to come into contact with food.

Subsequent presentations focused on printing methods and packaging production machines. An interesting presentation was given by M. Nałęcz from PNB Paribas on “Challenges and opportunities on the Polish paper and cardboard packaging market.” The conference ended with a question and answer session and a networking session.

On October 15, the second event began: “Innovative packaging – design and production of solid board packaging.” This was already the 9th edition. The event began with a presentation by K. Niczyporuk: “Packaging 2030 – where we are and what awaits us.” In his speech, the president of the Polish Chamber of Packaging presented the challenges facing the packaging industry in the near future in the legal, economic, and social context. M. Moczulski from Metsa Board presented a sustainable approach to packaging production at the Metsa Group. In subsequent presentations, we learned about ways to refine packaging and printing. M. Krawczyk from SGS Polska gave an interesting presentation entitled “Eco-design of paper and cardboard packaging.” Finally, J. Kierzkowska-Grzyb discussed the topic of customer expectations towards printing houses. The lecture was followed by a panel discussion on the same topic.

The event was attended by K. Godlewska, A. Werner, and J. Żubrzak.
