FSNT NOT organizes celebrations for World Engineer’s Day ’26

On March 3, 2026, nationwide celebrations of World Engineer’s Day ’26 (ŚDI) were held at the headquarters of the Warsaw House of Technology NOT. This special celebration was established by the World Federation of Engineering Organizations WFEO under the auspices of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). The organizer of the regular celebrations of this event in Poland is the Main Board of the Federation of Scientific and Technical Associations (FSNT). The theme of the event was “Space research and sustainable development.” One of the main goals of this year’s debate was to highlight the importance of space technology in building a secure, modern, and responsible economy. The debate, which attracted a large audience, was also an opportunity to emphasize Poland’s role and intellectual potential in the field of space exploration, as well as to highlight the undoubted benefits for the economy and society as a whole in the future. One of the components of the World Engineer’s Day celebrations was the final of the latest edition of the Przegląd Techniczny readers’ poll, which selected the winners of the competition for the title of “Golden Engineer.” The title of Diamond Engineer was awarded to Prof. Krzysztof Jóźwik, PhD, Eng., Rector of the Lodz University of Technology.

The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Our Association was represented by J. Turski (Director General of SPP) during the official celebrations.
