CEPI CEO Forum Meeting, Warsaw 2026

On May 19 of this year, at the Polonia Hotel in Warsaw, we were pleased to host an off-site meeting of CEPI (Confederation of European Paper Industries) members, attended by numerous representatives of the European paper industry, whose interests are represented on a daily basis by the Confederation’s Brussels-based office.

The event was held in the “spring meeting” format, which traditionally (once a year) allows organizers to include additional topics in the program’s industry debate, presented by special guests (“keynote speakers”) who are recognized authorities in fields such as economics, politics, and social issues. In this year’s edition of the “spring” event, Professor Witold M. Orłowski joined the elite group of speakers. His presentation bore the intriguing title: “What a dangerous world . . .”. Through the eyes of an expert, using both verbal explanations and visual aids, the professor illustrated the greatest threats and key megatrends that will shape the global economy in the coming years. At the same time, he identified the most important characteristics that, in his opinion, should define successful companies. These included, among others: corporate flexibility, resilience to shocks, the ability to generate innovation, the skill to commercialize the latest technologies, care for the environment and climate, and maintaining ethics in the workplace culture. Some participants in the Warsaw meeting were visiting our city/country for the first time. Their stay was therefore an opportunity to learn about the history of the capital, observe the dynamic improvements in downtown infrastructure, and appreciate the delights of local cuisine during a shared dinner. During the meeting, our Association was represented by: T. Katewicz, President of the SPP, and J. Turski, General Director of the SPP.
