SPP at the 5th Packaging Industry Congress
Today, September 26, SPP representatives – Katarzyna Godlewska, director of the SPP office, and Agnieszka Werner, Corrugated Board Section – took part in the 5th Packaging Industry Congress, organized in Poznań by the Polish Chamber of Packaging and the Poznań International Fair.
The substantive program of the Congress consisted of speeches that attempted to answer the question of what directions production in the industries for which packaging is intended is heading, what new products and technologies we can expect in the market in a few years, and therefore how the packaging industry would like to respond to these challenges. New products and technologies will require new types of packaging, which we will have to secure. It is the manufacturers of new food, pharmaceutical, chemical, household, cosmetic, hygiene, agricultural (fruits and vegetables), dietary, organic, etc. products that tell us what requirements the packaging should meet in order to properly secure these new products and their introduction to the market, taking into account the many new considerations related to demographics, lifestyles, health, habits, tastes and ecology.
The presence of the paper and corrugated board packaging industry at the Congress was strongly marked by a lecture by Marek Motylewski (Mondi Group), who talked about hybrid papers as the sustainable future of corrugated packaging. In his presentation, he strongly emphasized that paper and paper packaging is the best option in the sustainable development of our civilization.
