Wine in paper bottles
Supermarket chain Aldi, in cooperation with Frugalpac, is launching two of its own brands of wine in paper bottles. Cambalala South African Shiraz and Sauvignon Blanc wines will be available in new packaging starting March 18, which marks World Recycling Day.
World Recycling Day was established in 2018 to promote the benefits of recovering raw materials from waste. World Recycling Day is also intended to make people think about responsible management of natural resources.
Frugalpac’s paper bottles are made from 94% recycled cardboard, while the inner bag into which the wine is poured has been approved for food contact. The outer layer is designed to be easily separable from the inner bag, so both parts can be recycled separately in their respective waste streams.
